Linux Training for Singapore Firms

ASPLinux Pte. Ltd. and Genovate Solutions have launched the ASPLinux Training and Certification program for enterprise Linux customers in Singapore and India.

The program will broaden the availability of ASPLinux training and certification in Asia to meet the growing demand for enterprise in Linux, the faster-growing server operating system. The CEO and co-founder of Genovate Solutions, Anton J. Ravindran said, "Linux is likely to become the most pervasive global Web server platform in 12 month's time."

The program is designed to help enterprise Linux users build their infrastructure with open-source solutions. It pairs ASPLinux's training and certification with Genovate's training experts. The idea is to train IT professionals who want to learn Linux-based systems, further develop their Internet-working skills and achieve credible certification in the adoption of open-source solutions within their organizations.

Genovate will offer three levels of courses for this program GNU/Linux Fundamentals is the entry-level course for newcomers. GNU/Linux System Administration is for those who have completed the entry-level module or who have equivalent experience with GNU/Linux. Finally, GNU/Linux Network and Security Administration is targeted at students who have completed the first two stages or who have equivalent experience and who are experienced in GNU/Linux system administration.

Each module lasts four days and consists of hands-on training in various fields that include installation, configuration, trouble-shooting and system administration through realistic lab and programming exercises. Successful students will receive certification in either GNU/Linux LPI or Red Hat, depending on the level of course fulfillment.

The agreement between the two companies also marks the entry of ASP Linux into the India market. "ASPLinux is confident about forging and expanding training partnerships in other locations in Asia in the next six months," said Azhar Kayani, its director.
