On entrepreneurial instincts ...
“I came from a family of professionals (as opposed to coming from a family of businessmen) and was provided with the opportunity to live in different parts of the world, experiencing diverse cultures. I had the opportunity to assume leadership roles at a relatively early age and had the opportunity to work for global MNCs and a Singapore-based company.. To succeed, an entrepreneur should have a good understanding of his genetic and natural abilities and limitations and the ability to constantly learn, unlearn, relearn and evolve. It’s a fine mix of inherited and learned ability (nature together with nurture). ”
On his pursuit on excellence ...
“I personally aim for zero defects in our services and adopt a positive, ‘can do’ never-say-die attitude when confronted with a difficult problem. Nothing is impossible with commitment and conviction. Also one has to be creative, innovative and flexible in problem solving. I view every problem as a challenge and opportunity for improvement and advancement in my own career as well as for my team at Genovate. I constantly upgrade my skills and change old mindsets to stay ahead of the competition. With the intensity of competition, there is no room for individual complacency.”
On joining The Entrepreneur of the Year Award again ...
“To my delight, I was selected last year and again this year as one of the top entrepreneurs for this award. From clients, suppliers, employees and associates, the recognition and learning have truly reaped some intangible benefits.”
