Sun and stellar partners (Sun, Genovate, SAP, Brooks, Adexa, PTC) unveils integrated manufacturing infrastructure for real-time enterprise
SINGAPORE -- August 18, 2005 -- Sun Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ: SUNW) and its best-of-breed partners today launched an integrated manufacturing solution showcase at Sun Solution Center. Th e showcase, developed in partnership with Genovate, is designed to take care of the entire spectrum of manufacturing, offering manufacturing customers the opportunity to have real-time visibility.
This milestone follows closely after the success of a smaller-scale ITE-Sun engineering solution center at IT College east launched earlier this year. This engineering solution center which targets the IT manufacturing technologies for small and medium enterprises, serves as a good launch pad to gauge the level of interest to offer a complete business solution for both SMEs and MNCs.
"A recent technology test drive seminar was conducted by the center in June and many of them have since contacted us indicating their commitment to collaborate in testing similar technology within their organisations." The infrastucture launched today brings together star solutions in segments from product design & development to order execution and fulfillment that will cover the complete business cycle in an organization providing a comprehensive end-to-end business solution for the extended enterprise.
Genovate will be using its experience in SAP implementation to provide the industry and technical expertise to integrate them suitably with PTC, Adexa and Brooks software. With product life cycles shrinking, this “Total Solution” will help manufacturing customers work their assets, reduce costs, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate time to market. This best solution which will be implemented on Sun servers will include the engineering, planning, procurement, production and shipping business processes.
